Celeb chefs boost Chicago show’s top-growth gourmet area

US celebrity chefs will be out in force at next month’s International Home + Housewares Show in Chicago.
The television personalities will be showcasing their culinary skills in the GOHO Cooking Theater, which is the focal point of the Gourmet Home + Food area – the exhibition’s fastest-growing section. Along with the Cooking Theater it features the Specialty Foods Marketplace run by the National Association for the Specialty Food Trade, along with exhibitors of the tools used to prepare food.

Phil Brandl of show sponsor International Housewares Association, said: “Our buyer audience has told us that they appreciate being able to shop the gourmet foods category in conjunction with the visit to the show. This category offers traditional home goods retailers a significant additional sales and profit opportunity.”

The GOHO Cooking Theater will offer chef demonstrations beginning at 9.45am each day.

The show features more than 2,100 exhibitors from around the world, including 400 new companies, showcasing housewares, homewares and foods. It runs March 16 to 18 at Chicago’s McCormick Place. Visitors can register for free at housewares.org.
