Housewares Magazine’s March issue finds its Mystery Shopper on a mission to find the best kitchenware destination in Cambridge.
With Valentine’s Day just around the corner, the magazine’s undercover reporter visits six shops in the city in search of a heart-shaped baking tin – along with well-informed and friendly staff, a good product choice, enticing environment, and everything else that goes to make a good shopping experience.
Shops under investigation were Lakeland, Steamer Trading, Divertimenti, Clement Joscelyne, John Lewis and Kitchen & Things.
Not all of them came up to scratch, with the Mystery Shopper’s tour revealing, amongst other things, “disappointing service”, a “distinct lack of romance”, “no staff”, “no metal heart-shaped bakeware”. However, one shop shone…
