Burleigh is partner of Afternoon Tea Week

Burleigh has announced that it is the official partner of Afternoon Tea Week 2015.

Produced in the heart of England’s Potteries, Burleigh is the only pottery in the world to continue the centuries old craft of tissue transfer printing.

Auctioneer, author and curator Steven Moore, presenter of BBC1’s ‘Antiques Roadshow,’ explained: “Burleigh has long been the tea-lovers’ choice and has been handcrafting beautiful teaware since 1851 – just as the tradition of ‘Taking Tea’ as a light meal during the day became fashionable in high society.”

Burleigh’s designs include ‘Asiatic Pheasant’ (a Burleigh favourite since 1862) and Blue Regal Peacock (winner of the tabletop category of the Housewares Innovation Awards 2015).

Afternoon Tea Week takes place this year from August 10-16. It celebrates the heritage of afternoon tea in the UK, with a week of activities, themed menus and offers in hotels, restaurants and tearooms across the country.
