Brits to spend £315 each on Christmas gifts

Brits are set to spend almost £1,500 this Christmas, according to a study by American Express.

The findings of an annual survey by the global financial services company has revealed that the cost of Christmas across the whole of the UK is set to reach £75.5 billion.

The biggest cost will be spent on Christmas getaways outside the UK (£386 each), followed by gifts for loved ones (£315 each). Britons’ total seasonal bill will be just £6 less this year compared to 2015.
