Bira gives feedback on its Exclusively Housewares debut

Bira (British Independent Retailers Association) exhibited at London trade show Exclusively Housewares for the first time this year – and has declared the experience a success.

The trade body said the event, which took place at the Business Design Centre in London on June 12 and June 13, provided ‘a great opportunity for us to talk to our members and engage with our 45 bira direct suppliers [bira direct is a buying service for retailer members of bira]’.

Bira introduced several initiatives for its members at the show, including a discount on orders placed at the exhibition, and tickets to the Exclusively evening party, with the added bonus of a hotel stay in London.

On the second day of the show, bira national membership manager Julie Holden hosted a panel discussion with bira members on the theme of: ‘Growth in today’s market place’ as part of a seminar programme hosted by BHETA (British Home Enhancement Trade Association).

Jeff Moody, managing director of bira, commented: “The uptake of members visiting the show and placing orders was fantastic. In addition, we received, really encouraging feedback from both members and suppliers. We look forward to attending again next year.’

In 2019, Exclusively Housewares and co-located show Exclusively Electrical will be held at the same venue on June 11 and June 12
