Ground-breaking coffee products will enjoy a special focus at next year’s Domotechnica appliances show in Cologne, with the launch of a new Innovation Award scheme.
The awards, to be presented for the best coffee products, components and packaging, will form a part of the special Coffee Cologne area, created in response to the growing importance of the category.
Domotechnica says new products likely to be considered for an award include the coffee machine that speaks to its user, switches itself on and off at the right time and provides a weather forecast in the morning. It also cites coffee that heats itself up when shaken and no-spill cups for people on the move.
Awards will be made in 10 categories: Coffee in General, Coffee Drinks, Coffee Machines and Grinders, Coffee Technology, Coffee Accessories, Functional Drinks, Milk for Coffee, Crossover Tea, Crossover Chocolate and Packaging.
