Messe Frankfurt – the organiser of annual German trade fair Ambiente – will open a new hall in its exhibition premises in Frankfurt this Autumn.
Ambiente divisional manager Nicolette Naumann said the launch of the new Hall 12 will be used as an opportunity to replan the layout of Ambiente 2019, “so the show will become fit for the future across all product groups”.
She added that the new building “will be ahead of its time in technical matters and will set standards in energy consumption and in the production of solar power”.
The construction of Hall 12 is intended to give Messe Frankfurt ‘time and flexibility to replace Hall 5 completely and to renovate the entire Hall 6’. The Houseware & Storage area will move from its current locations (Hall Levels 5.0, 5.1, 6.0 and 6.1) to Hall 12.
As Hall 6 needs to be cleared for restructuring in 2019, the Table Top Trade area will move temporarily from Hall Levels 6.2 and 6.3 to 5.2 and 5.1.
From Ambiente 2019 onwards the entire Sourcing Dining area will be concentrated on 4 levels in Hall 10. A new feature in Hall 10.2 will be called ‘Premium’. This is where selected exhibitors from Global Sourcing Dining will present all relevant Dining product ranges. Otherwise Dining will remain unchanged.
The new Kitchen Houseware Express will provide visitors with a direct non-stop link between Hall 12 and Hall 3 and vice versa, connecting the two areas in both directions.
The Ambiente team will also rearrange the Living/Giving area to ‘reinforce synergies through clear hall structures and through the effective channelling of visitors’.
From 2019, buyers will find the Interior Design area in Hall 8.0, with furniture, lighting, home and design accessories, and designer-made and handcrafted jewellery in the premium brand upper market segment.
Interiors & Decoration in Hall 9.0 will feature interior design and hybrid collections, comprising both interior design and gift items in the medium to upper medium market segments, in two seasons.
Hall 9.1 will accommodate Interiors & Seasonal Decoration, with seasonal decorations and interior design accessories, ranging from the consumer-focused to medium market segments in two seasons, as well as home fragrances and collectors’ items.
Trendy and design-oriented gift items, jewellery and fashion accessories from the medium and upper market segments will be available under Urban Gifts in Hall 11.0. Gift Ideas in Hall 11.1 will cover traditional gifts, souvenirs, jewellery and fashion accessories, from the consumer-focused to medium market segments.
The area of Global Sourcing Living/Giving will mainly be situated in Halls 9.2 and 9.3.
The next Ambiente will be held from February 8 to February 12 2019.
