A Robert Welch Designs fish called…?

On a recent visit to Robert Welch Designs, the Princess Royal unveiled a unique fish sculpture at the housewares manufacturer’s Chipping Campden studio – and now the company needs our help.

Last year the Gloucestershire-based cutlery, dining specialist worked with a local secondary school to run a design competition for students. The brief was to create a piece of art that could be made using cutlery on the theme of ‘fish’.

Student Anna Elvins was chosen to have her design turned into a sculpture and was joined by local artist Rachel Higgins (who interpreted Anna’s winning design) to witness the grand unveiling by Princess Anne.

The sculpture will be displayed in the window of the supplier’s studio shop on Chipping Campden’s Lower High Street until tomorrow (Wednesday February 15), and in its Bath shop on 6 Broad Street from February 17 until March 1.

But the fish needs a name, so customers are being invited to enter a competition to suggest a moniker, by completing an entry form in either shop. The winner will receive a Robert Welch Designs Signature 16cm flexible filleting knife and a side of smoked salmon. The competition closes on March 1. https://www.robertwelch.com/articles/a_royal_unveiling.htm;  https://www.robertwelch.com
